The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asserted that no serious Northerner will support the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming 2027 elections. This statement follows allegations of non-performance against Kaduna Central Senator Lawal Adamu and claims that the distribution of educational materials procured by him has been halted by the state government.
Yusuf Dingyadi, Senior Special Assistant to the PDP National Chairman on Media and Communication, emphasized the need for the state government to collaborate with all elected representatives, regardless of political affiliation, to improve living standards in Kaduna.
Dingyadi criticized the APC for its perceived failure to deliver, stating, “You cannot be sponsoring political thugs and propagandists to destroy our values just to impress President Bola Tinubu.” He referenced the lack of genuine support for the APC in the North, arguing that any political maneuvering is merely to advance personal interests.
He also advised Governor Uba Sani to avoid being misled by political figures who may be more of a liability than an asset. Dingyadi praised the performance of PDP-elected members in their constituencies, claiming they are more effective than their APC counterparts.
The PDP’s stance highlights ongoing tensions between the two major political parties as the 2027 elections approach, with each side attempting to position itself favorably in the eyes of the electorate.
