A former senatorial candidate and respected social commentator, George Ekpo, has lavished praise on Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, calling him “a political bulldozer” and asserting that “one Orji Uzor Kalu is better than sending ten people to the National Assembly.”

In a passionate endorsement that has since gone viral, Ekpo highlighted the far reaching impact of the former Abia State Governor’s tenure in the Senate, citing his infrastructure achievements, educational investments, and people-centered governance. According to Ekpo, Senator Kalu is not just effective, he is irreplaceable.

“He has built and tarred roads, even leading to other states! He is rooted in serving his people. He is a man whose development strides speak for themselves,” Ekpo stated. “Over 40 schools have been built under his watch, scholarships abroad have changed destinies, and his belief in human capital development sets him apart.”

Ekpo, who contested for the Senate in 2019, stressed that Kalu’s performance in the National Assembly transcends political allegiance. “Even people from his Senatorial District are asking him to come back again. He is an astute politician and truly the man of the people. Senator Orji Uzor Kalu deserves another opportunity to serve.”

Indeed, Kalu’s record backs up these commendations. As a senator, he has sponsored more bills than any other former governor in the 10th National Assembly, addressing sectors such as education, maritime operations, defense, environment, and electoral reform. He has also been awarded multiple times for excellence in constituency development, and his landmark “Red Roof Revolution” for schools, rural electrification projects, and healthcare support have earned him acclaim from constituents and colleagues alike.

This groundswell of support is stirring conversations ahead of the 2027 elections, with many urging the Senate chief whip to recontest. For George Ekpo and many like him, Orji Uzor Kalu represents more than a legislator, he is a symbol of development-driven politics.

“Let’s support Orji Uzor Kalu,” Ekpo concluded. “He’s a doer, a believer in progress, and a servant of the people. Nigeria needs more of his kind.”
