The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has declared that Nigeria will not accept disrespect from any country following the denial of visas to military personnel invited to the Invictus Games in Vancouver, Canada. Musa addressed the issue at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja, highlighting that all necessary procedures were followed for the visa applications.
The National Security Adviser had previously criticized the Canada High Commission for denying visas to key military officials. Musa expressed disappointment that essential team members, including the captain and medical staff, were unable to attend due to the visa denials.
He emphasized Nigeria’s right to respect on the global stage and praised the bravery of the wounded soldiers who participated in the games. Musa assured that the government remains committed to supporting injured military personnel, ensuring they are not forgotten and have the resources needed for successful reintegration into civilian life.
Musa stressed the importance of honoring the sacrifices of service members and maintaining troop morale, asserting that Nigeria deserves dignity and fairness in international relations.
