The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Adewale Adeniyi, has announced that the agency is implementing technology to combat smuggling and manage transportation between Nigeria and the Republic of Benin.

During a recent visit to the Ogun 11 Area Command in Abeokuta, Adeniyi revealed that the technology has already been developed and is currently being piloted at the Seme-Krake border. He emphasized that successful implementation of this technology would significantly reduce smuggling activities along the borders.

Adeniyi noted the strong collaborative relationship with border countries, stating, “I have met with my colleagues in the Republic of Benin, and we have worked together on various issues. They have been proactive in providing platforms for information and intelligence exchange.”

In related news, the Area Controller of Ogun 11 Area Command, Bisi Alade, reported that the command generated over N15 billion in revenue during the first quarter of 2025.
