The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) announced the interception of significant drug shipments, including 21.7 kg of Colorado cannabis and 101 kg of Canadian Loud, concealed in food items.

On July 23, operatives apprehended a suspect, Chidi Agbafo, on the Epe-Ajah expressway in Lagos. He was transporting cannabis packaged in moimoi sachets and codeine syrup meant for delivery in Delta State.

Additionally, a joint examination at the Apapa seaport on July 25 led to the recovery of 101 kg of Loud hidden in 202 tins labeled ‘Bean Salad Mix’ from two Toyota Sienna buses shipped from Canada.

Further investigations resulted in the arrest of a Chinese national, Liang Tak You, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport. He arrived from Bangkok with 50 parcels of Loud weighing 26.10 kg.

The NDLEA also detained an 80-year-old woman, Mrs. Grace Ekpeme, in Calabar with over 3 kg of skunk. In various operations across states, numerous arrests were made, and significant quantities of drugs were seized, including tramadol and other opioids.

Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), Chairman of NDLEA, commended the efforts of officers across various commands for their successful operations against drug trafficking.
