The Nigerian Air Force has approved the redeployment of several senior officers to key command and staff positions as part of efforts to enhance operational efficiency and align its structure with the vision of the new Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke.
A total of 19 officers have received new appointments, while six others have been posted to various defense and inter-service establishments. This restructuring is aimed at improving decision-making, strengthening coordination across units and commands, and reinforcing readiness in response to current security challenges.
Among the new appointments:
- Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Abdullahi becomes Chief of Policy and Plans.
- AVM Adeniran Ademuwagun assumes duty as Commandant of the Air Force Institute of Technology, Kaduna.
- AVM Ibitayo Ajiboye is appointed Group Managing Director of the Nigerian Air Force Investment Limited Group of Companies.
- AVM Precious Amadi takes on the role of Chief of Operations.
- AVM Nnamdi Ananaba becomes Chief of Air Intelligence.
In logistics and engineering, AVM Olufemi Ogunsina has been appointed Chief of Aircraft Engineering, while AVM Michael Onyebashi commands the Mobility Command. Additionally, AVM David Pwajok is now Chief of Communication and Information Systems, and AVM John Ukeh is the new Air Provost Marshal.
To reinforce administrative and welfare structures, AVM Simon Peter is appointed Managing Director of NAFIL Housing and Construction Company, and AVM Chidiebere Obiabaka becomes Air Secretary. Other notable appointments include AVM Anthony Martins as Chief of Administration and AVM Abdulrasheed Kotun as Managing Director of NAF Farms.
The Chief of the Air Staff’s decision to reshuffle senior officers follows a similar reorganization announced by the Nigerian Army just a day earlier. This redeployment exercise was initiated shortly after the Chief of the Air Staff assumed office.
