President Bola Tinubu has pledged that his administration will ensure equitable development across all regions of Nigeria, emphasizing that no area will be left behind. He made this statement during a two-day interactive session in Kaduna, organized by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation.
Represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, Tinubu highlighted the government’s key achievements under the Renewed Hope Agenda, which include economic reforms, education, health, security, infrastructure, and food security. He noted the implementation of bold reforms aimed at stabilizing and growing the economy, including the unification of the exchange rate and restructuring of debt profiles.
Tinubu also outlined major infrastructure projects, such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Sokoto-Badagry superhighway, along with ongoing rail projects and housing initiatives. He stressed the importance of enhancing national security, modernizing farming practices, and unlocking Nigeria’s natural resources to achieve food security and economic empowerment.
The president acknowledged the impact of the removal of the fuel subsidy, describing it as a painful but necessary reform that has saved trillions of Naira. He emphasized that the savings are being redirected into critical infrastructure and human development.
Speaking on the importance of national cohesion, Tinubu extolled the virtues of the late Sir Ahmadu Bello, recognizing his contributions to unity in Nigeria. He called for patience and collective efforts to achieve the goals of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
