The Armed Forces of Nigeria have reaffirmed their commitment to supporting regional development efforts as a strategy to foster lasting peace and national stability. This commitment was made by Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Christopher Musa, during a courtesy visit to the Minister of State for Regional Development, Alhaji Maigari Ahmadu, in Abuja.
The CDS emphasized the strong link between peace and development, noting that communities with greater development typically enjoy more stability. He expressed gratitude for the ministry’s support in training Special Forces to enhance military operational capacity and improve national security.
In his response, Minister Ahmadu praised the military for its sacrifices in safeguarding Nigeria’s unity and territorial integrity. He highlighted the military’s educational support programs, including schools for children of repentant insurgents, and expressed confidence in their ability to address current security challenges.
