A band of well-armed kidnappers stormed Grow Homes estate in the Chikakore axis of Kubwa, Abuja, holding residents hostage for over an hour. The incident occurred between 12 am and 1:30 am on Monday morning.

Residents reported that during the chaos, a man and a woman were taken by the kidnappers. The woman was later found within the estate, having been released for unknown reasons. The exact number of abducted individuals remains unclear.

One resident described the attackers as well-armed, overpowering the local vigilance team. The police arrived around 1 am, leading to a fierce exchange of gunfire lasting about 30 minutes.

Residents are pleading for better security measures, including improved road access for patrol vehicles and the establishment of a police station nearby.
