The Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Mr Uche Nnaji, has resigned from office.
Nnaji’s resignation, which reportedly took effect on Monday, comes amid mounting allegations surrounding his role in the ministry’s recent controversies.
Although the details of the allegations remain unclear, sources within the ministry hinted that his decision to step down was connected to ongoing internal investigations into certain projects under his supervision.
Nnaji, a former governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State, was appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in August 2023. During his tenure, he championed policies to boost indigenous innovation and expand Nigeria’s technology ecosystem.
As of the time of filing this report, the Presidency has yet to announce a replacement for the vacant position.
