The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has said it will be difficult for opposition figures to defeat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the FCT in any future election.
Wike made the remark while speaking on the political strength of the ruling party in the nation’s capital, stating that candidates from opposition platforms, including the African Democratic Congress, would struggle to secure victory.
He specifically mentioned Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar, noting that defeating Tinubu in the FCT would be a tough challenge for them.
According to the minister, recent political developments and governance efforts in the territory have strengthened support for the current administration, making it more difficult for opposition candidates to gain ground.
Wike maintained that the political structure on ground in the FCT favours the president, adding that the ruling party remains firmly in control of the area.
