Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has announced a cabinet reshuffle, resulting in the immediate removal of Prof. Olanike Adeyemo from her position as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
The change was confirmed in a statement from the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, on January 5, 2026, in Ibadan, the state capital.
In her place, Prof. Musibau Babatunde has been appointed as the new SSG. Additionally, Makinde has reassigned Temilolu Ashamu from the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources to the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning.
The governor has also named Ademola Aderinto, his Senior Special Assistant on Public Works, as a commissioner-designate, who is slated to be presented to the state House of Assembly for screening. Other appointments include Abiodun Adedoja as Special Adviser on Energy Security and Kolawole Elijah Akanmu as Senior Special Assistant on Budget and Economic Planning.
