Governor Peter Mbah has officially launched Enugu Air, a state-owned commercial airline, in a move aimed at elevating Enugu’s status as an aviation hub. The airline will start operations with three Embraer airplanes.
Mbah described the launch as a “triumph of vision” and a demonstration of Nigeria’s aviation potential. He emphasized that Enugu Air will initially connect key cities, including Abuja and Lagos, with plans to expand routes to other Nigerian cities and international destinations.
The governor highlighted that the establishment of Enugu Air is designed to create jobs, enhance access to markets, and provide a reliable travel option for the diaspora. He expressed confidence that the airline will contribute significantly to the region’s economic growth and attract investment.
