Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), has expressed profound gratitude to Allah for his remarkable journey from an Almajiri school pupil to leading Africa’s largest energy company.

In a heartfelt post on X, commemorating his 60th birthday, Kyari reflected on the exceptional opportunities he received from former President Muhammadu Buhari and current President Bola Tinubu, which allowed him to serve as the last Group Managing Director of the NNPC and the inaugural CEO of NNPC Ltd.

Kyari emphasized that merely looking back cannot encapsulate the richness of his life experiences, filled with both challenges and triumphs. He stated, “Allah, by His grace, has allowed me to reach this exceptional day, marking my 60th year since birth.”

He expressed immense gratitude for the chance to rise from humble beginnings to his current prestigious position. “At this milestone, I feel compelled to serve with even greater conviction and an elevated expectation of eternal recompense,” he said.

Kyari also acknowledged the sacrifices of his family, who have often been absent due to his commitment to serving the nation and the greater good. He extended his appreciation to friends, colleagues, teachers, and numerous others who have supported him throughout his journey, while also seeking forgiveness from anyone he may have unintentionally hurt.

This milestone marks not just a birthday, but a testament to resilience and the transformative power of determination.
