The Federal Government is set to commission the completed section of Phase I, Section I (30 km of the 750 km) of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway today. The ceremony will take place at KM 8 in the Jakande Estate Area of Lagos State.
Minister of Works, Engr. Dave Umahi, announced that President Tinubu will also virtually commission other completed projects under the Renewed Hope initiative in Southern Nigeria. These projects include the dualization of the East-West Road in Rivers State, the rehabilitation of the Lagos-Ibadan dual carriageway, and various other infrastructure improvements.
The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, a vision initiated by President Tinubu 27 years ago, aims to enhance transportation and accessibility across nine states in Nigeria, fostering regional integration and sustainable development. Umahi highlighted that this project reflects a long-held dream that is now becoming a reality.
