The Federal Ministry of Education has introduced the Inspire Live(s) Online Real-Time Classes Initiative, a digital learning program designed to improve access to quality education for secondary school students across Nigeria. The announcement was made by Minister of Education Tunji Alausa, who emphasized that the initiative aims to address ongoing challenges in the education sector, including teacher shortages and disruptions to learning.

According to a statement from the ministry, this groundbreaking program aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda.” The Inspire Live(s) initiative intends to democratize education by streaming interactive lessons directly to students, ensuring no child is left behind, regardless of their location.

The program covers class levels from Primary 1 to Senior Secondary 3, with current content available for Junior Secondary and Senior Secondary School students. Classes will run Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., featuring certified master teachers delivering lessons via Cisco Webex.

In order to facilitate participation, state education commissioners have been instructed to appoint Focal Officers to coordinate activities and ensure that schools are equipped with the necessary technology and internet connectivity. Registration for participation will be managed through school principals, and the program will be accessible to both public and private schools across Nigeria.
