Former Cross River State Governor, Donald Duke, has formally resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Duke completed his membership registration at Ward 5 in Calabar Municipality, where he was issued his ADC membership card in the presence of party supporters and officials.
This development marks the second time the former governor has exited the PDP. He had earlier left the party for the Social Democratic Party (SDP), under which he contested the presidential election.
Party leaders in Bakassi Local Government Area described Duke’s entry into the ADC as a significant boost and called on residents and supporters to rally behind the party as a platform for political renewal.
In a statement following a stakeholders’ meeting, ADC leaders urged Nigerians to embrace the party’s vision, stating that the country requires purposeful leadership and a departure from what they described as years of ineffective governance.
The party leadership also reaffirmed its commitment to unity, discipline, and loyalty to the ADC’s national structure, pledging to strengthen the party ahead of future political contests.
