In a timely announcement just before the holiday season, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to N899.50 per litre. This strategic move, revealed on Thursday morning, aims to bring relief to Nigerians as they gear up for festive travel and celebrations.
Previously set at **N970** per litre since late November, the new price reflects the refinery’s commitment to easing transport costs during this bustling time of year. Anthony Chiejina, the Group’s Chief Branding and Communications Officer, emphasized that the reduction is designed to benefit consumers directly.
Adding to the festive cheer, the refinery has introduced a unique offer: for every litre purchased in cash, customers can acquire an additional litre on credit, backed by guarantees from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank. This initiative aims to enhance affordability and accessibility for all consumers.
Chiejina expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their continued support and reaffirmed the refinery’s dedication to providing high-quality petroleum products that are not only competitively priced but also environmentally friendly. He also highlighted the refinery’s role in eliminating Nigeria’s dependence on substandard imported fuels, which pose risks to health and machinery.
With a remarkable capacity of **650,000 barrels per day**, the Dangote Refinery stands as the largest single-train refinery in the world. It is fully equipped to meet Nigeria’s entire refined petroleum needs, with a surplus available for export, signaling a transformative shift in the country’s oil industry.
