The Government of Burkina Faso has reported that a Nigerian Air Force C130 aircraft, carrying 11 military personnel, was forced to land in Bobo Dioulasso after allegedly violating its airspace. This development was confirmed by Agence d’Information du Burkina, the state-run news agency.
The aircraft reportedly experienced an in-flight emergency while operating in Burkinabe airspace. An investigation revealed that the Nigerian military did not have authorization to fly over Burkina Faso, prompting the Confederation of Sahel States to condemn the incident as a violation of sovereignty.
In light of this violation, the Confederate air and anti-aircraft defenses have been placed on maximum alert to address any future infringements. As of this moment, there has been no official statement from the Nigerian Air Force or the federal government concerning the incident.
