Nigeria’s former President, Muhammadu Buhari, is dead.
The news of his passing was confirmed on Sunday, July 13, 2025, by his longtime spokesperson, Garba Shehu. According to reports, the former president died in a hospital in London, United Kingdom, where he had been receiving medical treatment in recent months.
Buhari, who served as Nigeria’s democratically elected president from 2015 to 2023, was 82 years old at the time of his death.
His former media aide, Bashir Ahmad, also confirmed the development in a statement shared on social media, expressing deep sorrow over the loss.
