Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has indicated that the African Democratic Congress is his preferred destination as he considers leaving the Peoples Democratic Party amid its lingering internal crisis.
The governor made this known while receiving a delegation of the ADC led by Babachir Lawal at the Government House in Bauchi.
He said efforts to resolve the crisis within the PDP had failed despite several reconciliation attempts at both national and state levels. According to him, even options like the All Progressives Congress were explored, but did not work out.
Mohammed explained that the ADC currently appears to be the most suitable platform, though consultations are still ongoing with stakeholders.
He added that a final decision would be made soon, with a formal declaration expected by Thursday.
The governor also accused the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, of worsening divisions within the PDP.
Earlier, Lawal said the ADC leadership, under David Mark, sent the delegation to engage Mohammed as part of efforts to unite opposition forces ahead of the 2027 elections.
