A 50-year-old businessman from Central Market in Bauchi, Alhaji Nuru Isah, has been accused of killing his 24-year-old second wife, Wasila Abdullahi. The tragic incident occurred on March 1, 2025, near Government Girls College in the Fadamam Mada Area, following a disagreement over food ingredients and fruits meant for breaking the Ramadan fast.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect allegedly struck his wife with a cane, causing her to collapse and lose consciousness in their home. She was rushed to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed her death.

The Bauchi State Police Command, through spokesperson CSP Ahmed Wakil, confirmed that they were alerted to the alleged homicide and swiftly initiated an investigation. The suspect has been apprehended, and the cane used in the assault has been recovered as evidence.

Commissioner of Police CP Musa Muhammad assured the public of the Command’s commitment to ensuring justice and protecting lives. He reminded the community that domestic violence is a serious offense with potentially devastating consequences and emphasized the importance of fostering a safe environment for all individuals.
