The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier-General Olakunle Nafiu, has cautioned corps members to be responsible in their use of social media during and after their service year.
Addressing members of the 2025 Batch A Stream 2 at the NYSC orientation camp in Yikpata, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State, the DG acknowledged the growing importance of social media but warned against its misuse.
“Some matters are best resolved among those around you; don’t resort to social media for everything,” he said, noting that reckless online behavior could have serious long-term consequences.
General Nafiu congratulated the corps members for successfully completing their academic programmes and encouraged them to take the NYSC year as an opportunity to prepare for future leadership roles. He emphasized the need for diligence, dedication, loyalty, and patriotism in their service to the country.
The Kwara State NYSC Coordinator, Mr. Onifade Olaoluwa, described the DG’s visit as motivational and morale-boosting, adding that 2,290 corps members were currently undergoing orientation in the state.
