Rescue operation teams in Adamawa State continue to recover bodies following a devastating flood that has now claimed 25 lives. Dr. Celine Laori, the executive secretary of the Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency, confirmed the updated toll on Tuesday, stating that operations to find missing residents are ongoing.

Dr. Laori shared that she is personally involved in the efforts, spending time in the camps to ensure the well-being of those displaced by the floods. The Namtari IDP camp has been merged with the Yelewa primary school camp for better management of resources.

Relief efforts are underway, with the National Emergency Management Agency and UNICEF providing essential supplies to the affected individuals. Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has proactively allocated ₦700 million to support relief efforts, allowing for a swift response to the crisis.

The state government is also planning financial packages to assist displaced persons with transportation back to their homes, aiming to help them rebuild their lives after the disaster.
