The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has recorded its second rainfall of 2025, with light to heavy showers occurring late Thursday evening. The downpour, which lasted about one hour, was observed in areas such as Utako and Jabi.
This rainfall follows a brief drizzle experienced on February 22, which lasted approximately 20 seconds in parts of Airport Road and Life Camp.
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has projected that significant rainfall will occur across most of Nigeria at the beginning of 2025, prior to the traditional onset of the rainy season, which usually begins in late March or early April and lasts until October or November.
The recent rains could signify an early shift in weather patterns, raising expectations for a potentially wetter season ahead in Abuja and other regions.
