Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Kogi State Governor Ahmed Ododo have both criticized Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan following her allegations of an assassination attempt.

Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, claimed that political adversaries orchestrated an attempt on her life due to her outspoken stance in the Senate.

In response, Akpabio dismissed the allegations as baseless and politically motivated, asserting that such claims undermine the integrity of the legislative process. He emphasized the importance of addressing grievances through appropriate channels rather than resorting to public accusations.

Governor Ododo also refuted Akpoti-Uduaghan’s claims, stating that the Kogi State government remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all its citizens, including political figures. He urged the senator to provide concrete evidence to substantiate her allegations and to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in their investigations.

These developments have intensified the political discourse surrounding Akpoti-Uduaghan, who has previously accused Akpabio of sexual harassment—a claim that has been met with strong denials and has led to legal actions, including defamation lawsuits filed by Akpabio’s wife, Unoma Akpabio.

The situation continues to evolve as both sides present their narratives, highlighting the complex dynamics within Nigeria’s political landscape.
