In a heated political discourse, Hajia Naja’atu Mohammed, a prominent political analyst, has reiterated her assertion that National Security Adviser (NSA) Malam Nuhu Ribadu previously labeled President Bola Tinubu as the “most corrupt” politician during his tenure as chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Speaking in an interview on Premier Radio, Naja’atu maintained that Ribadu made the accusation against Tinubu while he was leading the EFCC. However, Ribadu has vehemently denied these claims, stating that he has never accused Tinubu of corruption, either publicly or privately.

In a formal response, Ribadu’s lawyer, Dr. Ahmed Raji, issued a seven-day ultimatum for Naja’atu to retract her statements and apologize publicly. The letter, dated February 4, 2025, highlighted that Naja’atu’s remarks misrepresented Ribadu’s views on Tinubu, citing specific statements she made regarding alleged corruption among past governors.

Ribadu’s letter emphasized the unquantifiable damage to his reputation caused by Naja’atu’s TikTok video, which he claims mischaracterizes his position. He challenged her to provide evidence for her claims, asserting that they portray him as duplicitous and deceitful.

Despite Ribadu’s demands, Naja’atu remains steadfast in her position, inviting the NSA to take legal action if her statements are untrue. “Let him sue me if he believes what I said is false,” she declared.

As this political drama unfolds, the implications for both figures and their respective positions within Nigeria’s political landscape remain to be seen.
