Nasir Bala Aminu, a Senior Special Assistant to Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Citizenship and Leadership, has resigned from his position.

His resignation comes ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The move follows a directive issued by President Tinubu, asking all political appointees who intend to contest elective positions in 2027 to step down on or before March 31, 2026. The order applies to ministers, special advisers, senior special assistants, and other appointees in the administration.

In his resignation letter, Ja’oji thanked the president for the opportunity to serve. He described his appointment as proof of the administration’s commitment to youth inclusion and leadership development.

He said his selection for key roles reflected the president’s confidence in young Nigerians and his plan to involve them in national development.

Ja’oji also reaffirmed his loyalty to the president and pledged continued support for the administration. He added that he remains willing to serve the country in any capacity in the future.
