As of February 17, 2026, the Naira has appreciated in value, reaching N1,393 per dollar in the parallel market, up from N1,438 per dollar the previous weekend. This increase positions it closer to the rates seen in the official market.
In the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM), the Naira also strengthened, trading at N1,344 per dollar compared to N1,358 per dollar last weekend, indicating a N14 appreciation.
This improvement has significantly narrowed the gap between the parallel and official market rates to N49 per dollar, down from N72 per dollar last Friday, suggesting a positive shift in market dynamics.
