Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have successfully uncovered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) along the Damboa–Komala road and apprehended two individuals suspected of supplying logistics to Boko Haram terrorists. The operations took place between December 17 and 19 in Borno State, according to a statement by Lt. Col. Sani Uba, the Media Information Officer for the Joint Task Force (North East).
On December 17, troops from the 25 Brigade discovered an IED while patrolling the Damboa–Komala axis. They neutralized the device to ensure the safety of both the troops and civilians.
In a separate operation on December 19, troops stationed at a checkpoint along Maiduguri–Bama Road intercepted a Lagos-registered vehicle. This vehicle was found to be carrying a large quantity of food and energy drinks believed to be intended for Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists operating in the Kirawa area of Gwoza Local Government.
Two suspects were arrested in connection with the logistics supply operation. The recovered items included foodstuffs, energy drinks, mobile phones, and cash in various denominations.
The military high command praised the troops for their vigilance and effectiveness and emphasized the ongoing commitment to disrupting terrorist operations and safeguarding citizens in the North East. These operations come shortly after the army reported intercepting two vans suspected of delivering logistical support to ISWAP terrorists in the region, further undermining the operational capacity of these groups.
The Nigerian military continues to take decisive action against terrorist threats, working to ensure peace and security in affected areas.
