Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group, has expressed his readiness to become one of the largest investors in Imo State, addressing Governor Hope Uzodimma at the Imo Economic Summit 2025 held in Owerri. Dangote urged the governor to identify priority areas for investment, stating that his conglomerate would fully commit once directed.
Describing Uzodimma as a long-time friend, Dangote commended his efforts in creating a business-friendly environment. He stated, “We will be one of your biggest investors in Imo. So please tell me the area to invest and we will invest.”
He emphasized the importance of Nigerian entrepreneurs investing locally, arguing that a nation’s economy cannot rely solely on foreign investment. “What attracts foreign investors is a domestic investor. Africa has about 30 percent of the world’s minerals. We are blessed,” he added.
Additionally, Dangote reiterated that the Dangote Refinery is on track to achieve a production capacity of 1.4 million barrels per day, which will be the highest for any single-train refinery globally.
