The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has written to the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court in Abuja, Justice John Terhemba Tsoho, urging that cases involving the party not be assigned to three specific judges. The party described these judges as “courts of particular concern” regarding matters affecting PDP’s interests.

The letter, dated November 19, 2025, and signed by PDP national secretary Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, was received by the federal high court on November 20. It noted that over the past few years, matters for or against the PDP have consistently been assigned to Hon. Justice James Omotosho, Hon. Justice Peter Odo Lifu, and Hon. Justice Abduimalik, despite the Abuja Judicial Division having 12 judges.

The party highlighted complaints from its members about this pattern, stressing that justice must not only be done but be seen to be done. PDP requested that future cases for or against the party not be assigned to these three judges, emphasizing that this would maintain public trust and the perception of fairness in the judiciary.

PDP clarified that it has no doubt about the overall integrity of the Federal High Court, but seeks to address the specific concerns raised by its members regarding case assignments.
