Vote counting has commenced at Polling Unit 002, Amawbia, in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State, following the conclusion of voting on Saturday.
Preliminary results show that Governor Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has won the first polling unit announced in the area.

The Anambra governorship election features 16 candidates from 16 political parties, with Soludo seeking re-election against contenders from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Congress (APC), Labour Party (LP), and Young Progressives Party (YPP).
