There was chaos in an Area Court in Ilorin on Thursday when Mulikat Yusuf collapsed after her husband, Ishaq Abdulganiyu, expressed his desire to divorce her. Abdulganiyu stated in court that he was no longer interested in the marriage.
Yusuf responded by saying she was not ready for the divorce, highlighting her concern about where she would go after having given birth to six children. Overwhelmed by the situation, she slumped while leaving the courtroom.
Court officials quickly intervened, reviving her by splashing water on her face. The presiding Judge, Mr. Toyin Aluko, advised Yusuf to explore all possible avenues to reconcile with her husband before proceeding further.
The case has been adjourned until December 10 for a report on any potential settlement or a hearing
