The Commissioner of Police for Lagos State, Mr. Olohundare Jimoh, has praised the peaceful conduct of the Local Government Area elections held on July 12, 2025. The elections took place across 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas in the state.
Jimoh highlighted the high level of compliance with the restriction on vehicular movements, noting that no arrests were made for violations. He expressed gratitude to residents and visitors for their cooperation, which contributed to a secure electoral environment.
The commissioner commended the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, for ensuring that officers had the necessary logistics for their duties. He reported no incidents of violence during the elections, even in areas previously identified as potential flashpoints.
Jimoh acknowledged the professionalism of police personnel, stating they were both polite and firm in enforcing electoral rules.
